Giving to superiors using sashiageru
| This page contains giving to superiors using sashiageru in Japanese. |
| Giving and receiving can be a bit challenging at first but once you get it down you’ll be able to understand the importance of giving in Japan – Japanese love to give and receive. I’ve used the phrase “I gave a piece of cake to the teacher” to demonstrate the phrase in use. There are five types of giving terms: ageru, (giving inbound), sashiageru (giving to a superior), yaru (giving to an inferior), kudasaru (used to express the same event from a superior) and kureru (giving inbound). There are two ways to receive: itadaku (receiving from a superior) and morau(receiving from an equal). These are general uses, however, there are many more uses from these terms that will be dealt with in later videos. |
